Airtel mentioned in its press release about the recent acquisition of India leg of GBI’s India–Middle East–Europe submarine cable to strengthen its position in the emerging markets. It will complement the company’s existing global cable network – IMEWE, EIG, SMW4 and MENA – which will enable it to serve the growing demand for data across emerging markets such as SAARC, India, Middle East and Africa.
