Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) AGM, company chairman Mukesh Ambani announced two bonanza offers for Reliance Jio customers.

JioPhone 2 will be sold at an introductory price of Rs 2,999 only and your old feature phones can be exchanged for a new Jio Phone for just Rs 501. It is available to all the Jio Phone users from 15 August. The Jio Phone 2 is a significant upgrade over the Jio Phone as it offers a larger display and a QWERTY keyboard

“Starting 15th August, we have another exciting offer for common Indians. They can purchase our JioPhone 2 at an introductory price of only Rs 2,999,” Mukesh Ambani said.

Reliance JioPhone 2 Specifications

Reliance JioPhone 2 runs on KaiOS, the same operating system that powers the original Jio Phone. The smart feature phone comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. The smartphone supports SD card for expandable storage up to 128GB.

The new JioPhone 2 offers a QWERTY keypad with a dedicated button for the voice assistant. The device supports offers support for 24 Indian languages and voice commands. There is a 2.4-inch QWGA display with a dual nano SIM card slot.

It is backed by a 2,000mAh battery. On the camera department, the JioPhone 2 offers a 2MP rear camera along with VGA front camera. There is support for 4G VoLTE, of course. It offers 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB. The JioPhone 2 offers FM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS support.

Google introduced Google Assistant on Jio Phone earlier, and now it has extended support for YouTube as well. Facebook has also seen potential in the feature phone, and has extended support for WhatsApp for Jio Phone users. Notably, the Jio Phone received the Facebook app back in February this year.
