Xiaomi Mi Note 3 Launch

Xiaomi Mi Note 3 has been officially launched in an event in Beijing. The Mi Note 3 succeeds the original Mi Note 2, which made its debut last year. The high-end, Android smartphone will be available in China on September 12. There is no information as of now regarding Indian release.

The Mi Note 3 price starts at RMB 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,500) for the base variant (6GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage), and RMB 2,899 (approximately Rs 28,500) for the 6GB RAM/128GB inbuilt storage variant. The smartphone is only black colour option.

The company is touting Mi Note 3’s newly developed AI-based Beautify feature, a 16-megapixel front camera, and dual rear cameras, apart from facial recognition unlocking and a 4-sided curved body.

The Mi Note 3 also comes with an AI based facial recognition feature that allows you to unlock the smartphone with just a glance. Xiaomi claims that face unlock is as fast as a fingerprint scan and can be used when you hand is wet, in winters while using gloves and so on. The smartphone also features an under-glass fingerprint sensor. The smartphone also bears a 7-Series aluminium alloy frame and a 4-sided curved glass body.

Xiaomi Mi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with a pixel density of 403ppi and a 94.4 percent NTSC color gamut and  powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at up to 2.2GHz coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of inbuilt storage, with no expansion via microSD card.

The Mi Note 3 sports a a dual-camera configuration with a primary 12MP f1.8 unit and a wide-angle 12MP f2.6 telephoto lens. The dual-camera setup also comes with 2X optical zoom feature. There’s also a 16MP front-facing shooter.

The smartphone have a 3,500mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 over the top.

Connectivity options on board include 4G LTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, infrared sensor, and proximity sensor. It measures 152.6×73.95×7.6mm and weighs 163 grams.
